Late on June 28th I wrote 'National Day of Action: First Nations not Giving Enough?'. It was published on Blogcritics.org today. Also today, I received an e-mail alerting me that a comment had been made to my article. The comment appears below (the commenter's name has been deleted as this is not personal and the individual is certainly not engaging in a conversation):
I am always happy to receive encouragement and positive feedback. I am just as happy to see comments representing views that differ from, or challenge, my own. What is important is that people engage in a conversation. The comment represented above does none of these things. It is simply a puerile attack.
Because it violates most of the comment rules set by blogcritics, org, I have sent an e-mail to the site to have them evaluate it. While I do hope it will be deleted, I did want to capture it before it was gone. Why? Simply put, the comment demonstrates just how important it is for caring, thinking people to continue to work towards social justice and human rights issues. I certainly am stimulated by this vitriolic response to my article to continue my work.
